This release presents the collaboration of Elliot Sharp with Iraqi-born Jewish poet Ronny Someck. Accompanied one at a time by other musicians, including Anthony Coleman and two of the Parkins sisters, Someck performs readings of his poems, all of which are in Hebrew (except one, which is in English and Arabic). Thankfully, translations of the poems are included in the liner notes, for Someck writes with excellent concrete imagery of real day-to-day life. Revenge of the Stuttering Child is a low-key, enriching listen.
