One of San Francisco's best-kept secrets, Deedot is a producer/DJ/engineer who's been steadily putting in work for the last decade-plus. He's collaborated with a gang of artists in the Bay Area underground, including Melina Jones, Emassin, Nate Krooks, and Navery, and he can always be relied upon to come through with high-quality beats that blend funk, jazz, and soul influences into next-level hip-hop and R&B. Originally released in 2007, Public Radio finds him teaming with local emcee Paulie Rhyme for a 13-track album loaded with thick midtempo production and intelligent wordplay that balances consciousness with humor and straight mic skills. Guests include Moto, Rasco (of Cali Agents), Kazwell, Tableek (from Maspyke), Lunar Heights, Inkfat, and Orukusaki. There's not a weak track here, but "Square Circle," "Each One Teach One," "Bullet Holes," "One in a Million," and the posse cut "Kimodo Spit" are especially fierce.
