Details
[Edit]Windy City punk veterans Das Kapital are back with a more straightforward punk LP than their last concept LP, Denying the West. Given leader Marc Ruvolo's past membership in No Empathy, few modern bands know this working class, hard punk sound of Chicago '81 better — like thrash never happened. So if there's a Naked Raygun "woah oh" (which NR derived from Misfits and Buzzcocks) in the title track, that's as it should be. Likewise "Scavenger of Toulouse" is like We're Da Machine Effigies, though the opening "A Drunken Wager" is squarely in the more general 1981 Midwest style, like Zero Boys. (And "Junk Food Medicine" reminds of D.C.'s Black Market Baby.) That's right, this is zippy rock ‘n' roll punk.
