The influence of pop culture is clearly seen in Daily Planet's Reunion Records' debut, Hero. A band named after the newspaper in the Superman comic books, on this album the rock foursome manages to make references to Luke Skywalker, Japanese imports, and mp3s. While this does date the album somewhat, it also makes for interesting lyrical content. Composed of members Jesse Butterworth, Seth Davis, Danny Lund, and Bobby Reinsch, the group offers strong rock melodies, catchy hooks, and fun production elements. Overall, the project can be compared to musical aspects of Third Day's Time. Vocally, the album brings to mind Big Tent Revival's lead singer, Steve Wiggins. Songs include "Flying Blind," "Tangled Web," and "Everything Revolves Around You."
