[Edit]The beat that links world music drives Conrad Praetzel's Myths & Memories. The percussive rhythms are the essence around which Praetzel builds his various musical themes. Keyboards, acoustic guitar and pedal-steel guitar are tools he wields like a fine jeweler. The resulting sound, neatly sculptured, is of a thoroughly modern design, but the music it makes seems to span ages and cultures. Praetzel draws on a number of world music influences, including Andean, Caribbean and African, to create his many faceted sound.
