Hailing from the Northeast, Comadose hope to find their place among the current horde of rap-metal groups. Comadose carry with them a thick hardcore sound that helps distance the band from more radio-friendly rapcore acts such as Limp Bizkit, yet this hardcore element also leaves the album feeling a bit unrefined. This being the band's first album, all the members show hesitation and awkward uneasiness with the songs they're playing. Comadose have two guitarists, yet listening to Re-Up there seems to be no real need for the additional blast of sound, as one musician could easily handle most of the responsibility. Michael Roberge has an unusual voice, but tends to resort to throaty screams rather than display his more interesting vocal aspects. Lyrically, Re-Up is lacking substance, but the band manages to make solid songs with what they have at their disposal. "Velcro" and "Slam Pig" are arguably the best of the batch, but Comadose really need to work on their overall presentation. Re-Up is a solid debut, but leaves plenty of room for the band to grow, because if not, Comadose have a very long road ahead of them. ~ Jason D. Taylor, Rovi
