In a style that seems to be a vocally harmonic variation on Simon & Garfunkel, Colors provides a tremendously viable solution to the age-old standoff between music youth enjoy and music their parents would like them to listen. The only thing objectionable about these lyrics is the total lack of grammatical structure in the liner notes; this was obviously a conscious stylistic choice, though, so it is forgivable. The only thing objectionable about the music is that, after listening to this CD, you'll want more of it.

The recording contains a good blend of subjects for the songs, resulting in a more universal appeal. For example, "For Life" is an exploration on love at first sight, while "11:20" is the mourning of lost love. One piano solo, performed by David Tolk, is entitled "Love Set Me Free"; it is a wonderfully light and fluid piece, very similar in style to a George Winston song. All the songs on this album were written and arranged by the group, and the result is a fantastic original collection of musical artistry.
