Details
[Edit]Bridging the Gap is a collaboration between two Brooklyn rappers from different generations. Chubb Rock came of age as a hip-hop stylist and innovator in '80s New York, while Wordsmith earned his stripes a decade later as a well-respected freestyler. As emcees, both adhere to traditional New York values, but Bridging the Gap succeeds because it spends more time expressing love for hip-hop than it does complaining about current trends. Even more surprising is that the elder rapper is the more vital. Twenty-five years after his debut, Chubb can still turn a phrase like no one else in the game.
