[Edit]Custer LaRue's clear, true soprano does graceful justice to these old story Ballads, whether in English, like the gentle, plaintive "Barbara Allen," or French, with "Marlbru S'en Va T'en Guerre" and more. "The True Lover's Farewell" will certainly have listeners reaching for repeat play, as will "My Heartly Service." The Baltimore Consort provides her with their ongoing and excellent instrumental support, and the result is, as usual, a wide ranging spectrum of delightful performances. Highly recommended.
