Célia Vaz is a gifted female musician, a conductor, composer, arranger, singer and instrumentalist. In this album, joined by such talents as Chico Buarque, the Quarteto em Cy, the pianist Gilson Peranzzetta, the guitarists Romero Lubambo and Nelson Farias, along with others, she delivers her own perception about music, and her perception about music is Brazilian. The album is a dialogue between classics such as "Zingaro" (Jobim/Chico), "Lugar Comum" (João Donato/Gilberto Gil), "Inútil Paisagem" (Jobim/Aluísio de Oliveira), and even "Cry me a river" (Hamilton), with her own sensitive compositions. Always providing adequate warm voice renditions for the delicate tunes in this acoustic album, the instrumental backing is restrained to a peaceful, subtle support in all tracks. There are no jazz solos in this vocal release, just melodic fills and plenty of authoritative feminine vocal ensembles in which the experienced singers of the Quarteto em Cy and Wanda Sá, along with Célia herself, display their long-time achievements.
