Cashmere is a set of dance tracks set to up-tempo and mid-tempo rhythms. With the rapid advancement of studio gimmickry and keyboard technology, Cashmere sacrifices the authenticity of real instruments. However, they remain true to the vocality of their music. This is demonstrated on "Can I," which peaked at number 42 on the R&B charts; it's a radio-friendly and popular club track that utilizes keyboard and drum programming, and also allows Dwight Dukes ample space for an energetic vocal delivery. At a slightly slower tempo, "We Need Love," probably the best track on the album, peaked at number 68 on the R&B charts, and is traditionally arranged; Dukes, whose tenor gets stronger with each note, comes shining through on a track that is complemented by a curvaceous string arrangement. "Cutie Pie" was never a release, but is a mid-tempo groove with a catchy hook.
