There are literally thousands of "tough guys" in rap music, but very few who evoke the same sort of respect/fear as Bumpy Knuckles a.k.a. Freddie Foxxx. A true OG who started rhyming in the mid-‘80s, he worked with Eric B, Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit, BDP, Naughty By Nature, and Gang Starr as a journeyman rapper and producer known for his ferocious flow, take-no-sh*t lyrics, and heavyweight champ stature. Unfortunately his two solo albums were derailed by typical shady record label problems, so in 2000, he enlisted a dream team of New York beatmakers and put together this concept album taking aim at all those who had tried so hard to dismiss him. A musical mass-murdering of clueless executives (some called out by name) as well as fake gangsters and corny MCs, it is one the hardest rap records released in the new millennium. With explosive production from boom-bap icons DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Diamond D, and the Alchemist, Industry Shakedown is loaded with rambunctious anthems such as "Tell’em I'm Here," "Stock In The Game" and "Bumpy Knuckles Baby."
