True to the promise of its title, Happy Hymns provides an uplifting array of instrumental pieces. Many of the songs on this album are primarily LDS, but would be enjoyable to anyone who likes instrumental Christian music. They vary from a spritely take on "An Angel From on High" to a stately performance of "The Spirit of God." While this is the first CD by the Festival Brass and Winds as a group, the project is not lacking in experienced professional talent. This talent includes, among others, Larry Bastian and Clive Romney, who co-produced this CD, which is likely to make you smile.
