This CD single is the first from Blues Traveler's 1995 Four and includes the breakthrough hit "Run-Around." It is an essential addition for old-school and new fans alike because of the four additional non-LP tracks. The band knew their fans would have mixed feelings about mainstream radio success. This single rewards them with studio versions of the most rare Blues Traveler material. Each makes its official debut here and all were live staples as early as 1989. The incendiary "Trust in Trust" would have fit in well on 1993's Save His Soul but was actually first played at Blues Traveler's first-known concert in April 1989 and demoed for Blues Traveler. "The Poignant and Epic Saga of Featherhead and Lucky Lack" was performed first in 1992 and was also on a promo cassingle for "Defense and Desire" (Save His Soul). "Lucky Lack" is a classic John Popper up-tempo love song with charming lyrics. "Regarding Steven" is about mournful ballad that, after this release, was on the White Man's Burden soundtrack. "Escaping" was originally a Popper solo song but this full-band version would have been the standout track on Four, sounding like a combination of "Run-Around" and "The Mountains Win Again." This CD is a great value and expands their 1995 album with four more very good songs.
