Minneapolis-based guitar maulers the Blind Shake have earned a powerful reputation as an outstanding live act with their burly fusion of punk rock, surf music, and unfettered noise, and Castle Face Records has documented the band's lean-and-mean attack on the latest installment in its Live in San Francisco series. In 2013, Castle Face founder and Thee Oh Sees leader John Dwyer gathered fellow recording buffs Chris Woodhouse, Eric Bauer, and Bob Marshall for a show at the Bay Area venue the Chapel, where they prepared to document the evening's set by headliners the OBN IIIs. The Blind Shake were opening the concert, and the Castle Face crew were so impressed by their performance that they decided it deserved to be released as well. Live in San Francisco preserves the trio's furious mixture of guitars and drums on this no-frills ten-song release.
