Bebel Gilberto has been on a roll. After releasing her breakthrough, Tanto Tempo in 2000, she’s gone on to release one fine album after another, including now All In One. Working with a number of producers including Didi Gutman of the band Brazilian Girls, Carlinhos Brown, and Mark Ronson, Gilberto has crafted a fine piece of pop. Things start off mellow with "Cancao de Amor," where the singer’s gentle vocals are accompanied by acoustic guitar and piano, subtle electronics, and low-key percussion. A Brazilian groove animates Bob Marley’s “Sun Is Shining,” which comes decked out with a burbling synth part and bilingual lyrics. “Nossa Senhora” gets a spare reading that’s as light and sensual as a summer breeze, while Ronson’s production creates an unusual sense of space on Stevie Wonder’s “The Real Thing,” a track that hints at trip-hop. The title cut, a swooning song that nods toward Anglo-American pop, is one of the album’s standouts. “Segredo (Secret)” is a grand production whose drama is heightened by a string section, and the stripped down “Port Antonio” makes for touching closer.
