Details
[Edit]Decades after they hit the scene with their classic rabble-rousing debut, Licensed to Ill, The Beastie Boys are still doing their own thing. Though they've considerably toned down their subject matter since the old days, Ad-Rock, MCA, and Mike D continue to push musical boundaries, unafraid to experiment with different subgenres and sonic styles in an era of familiarity. On this six-track remix EP (from the album Hot Sauce Committee Part 2), they connect with Santogold and a gang of forward-thinking producers, further tweaking their sound into intergalactic dimensions. The dubbed-out original mix starts things off before getting into glitchier, freaked-out renditions courtesy of Sebastian, Major Lazer, K. Flay, and O.G. mashup maestro Z-Trip. Also included is an a capella version, ideal for fledgling beatmakers and bedroom remixers everywhere.
