Though the cover of Cuando Termines Con Todo, Habra Terminado Contigo may initially look slightly morose, along the lines of a Low or Songs:Ohia record, Aroah's somewhat joyful and peppy sound shines through any early fears. Their assembly is just as simple as the aforementioned slow-rockers, but seems much more shimmery and hopeful. The record is full of simple melodies that illustrate a great deal of songwriting talent. Here, the songs are the focus rather than some gimmicky production or another distractive element. And when the production does get denser, it is done tastefully and works to attract serious listening rather than repel it. A few of the tracks are sung in Spanish, but the tracks that are in English ("Come Home," "320," "Eder, Simone," "Fade") quickly resemble Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval, and drift towards Ani Difranco's more subtle moments where she refrains from flailing her voice like a fist. It is encouraging to find music so catchy in a language that's not often associated with indie rock, and this record is a great introduction to the band. Unfortunately, their beautiful vision is limited only by having so few songs on the record. Too bad it goes by so quickly.
