Tequila singer Alejo Stivel quit performing music when the band broke up in 1982, and went on to become a successful producer. Decíamos Ayer is both his debut solo album and his first own work in 30 years, a collection of covers of Spanish pop & rock classics from the late '70s/early '80s by the likes of Joaquín Sabina, Serrat, Radio Futura, Tequila, Burning, and Moris, among others, as well as Cuban songwriters Pablo Milanés and Silvio Rodríguez, and a Spanish version of the Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go."
