Nightmare from Elm Street, Vol. 3: The Street Tape

Coming out of the Bay Area, A-Wax has been doing his thing independently for while now, hitting off listeners with a long line of releases, both official albums and street tapes. For the third edition of his Nightmare from Elm Street series, he continues his trend of simple but catchy, hook-laden jams chiefly concerned with getting paid and disciplining his rivals. The production here sports a heavy Down South influence, with no shortage of skittering 808 snares and pitch-bending synth lines riding atop plenty of deep low-end. Guest spots come from Waka Flocka, Mistah F.A.B., Chynk Snow, Lil Flip, and Menace, while standout tracks include "I B On That $," "Dope Education," and "Black Diamond."
