[Edit]Barry Craig records deep electro-tribal ambience and dark minimalism as A Produce. A Smooth Surface falls on the minimalist side with experimental passages and deep synth washes. Craig is an e-music veteran, and this is one of his earlier releases. It shows the promise of things to come while maintaining its own integrity as a polished effort. The experimental textures do not dominate the soundscape. Rather, they enhance the atmospheres and are important elements of the soundscape. The disc is a unique effort.
