911 gathered 11 of their favorite songs while growing up and covered them on this, their third album. (Third time out seems a little early to release an album of cover songs, but here it is.) Neither as youthful and inspired as their debut, nor as listenable as its sequel, There It Is suggests the group have surpassed the quality of the music they were raised on — or just done little justice to it. Their take on the Bee Gee's "More Than a Woman" is light and fun, as is Heatwave's "Boogie Nights." They hit a perfect ten on Andy Kim's intensely harmonic "Rock Me Gently," with Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show's "A Little Bit More," and the soulful pop ballad "Private Number." The 911 energy is abundant, but the majority of material, classic or not, fails to make an impression.
