The hits that The Kinks scored in the '60s are the stuff of legend, but in America, the band's '70s-'80s stint on Arista Records was actually a bigger commercial success. This collection, named for the nostalgic 1983 hit "Come Dancing," captures highlights from that fertile period. "Low Budget" and "(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman" are wry time capsules from the economic malaise of the late '70s, while early-'80s tunes like "Do It Again" and "Better Things" rim with hard-won hope for a brighter future. And even though The Kinks' early years fall outside of the Arista umbrella, "Lola" and "You Really Got Me" still turn up here in the form of vivid versions from a 1980 live album.
