Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy bring out the big guns of Indian music for their soundtrack to Toofaan, a gritty story of an orphan who grows up to be a boxer. Arijit Singh powerfully holds his own with the rock ballad “Jo Tum Aa Gaye Ho” and follows up with a quieter, folksy, acoustic song of yearning with “Ananya”. Rapper D’Evil is the other heavy hitter, strutting with powerful verses on “Todun Taak” with producer Dub Sharma, while he’s offered dubstep on “Dekh Toofaan Aaya Hai”. In between, the composers sprinkle in a rousing lead anthem (“Toofaan Title Track”), poignant fusion-rock (“Purvaiya”), and devotional music (“Ganpati Vandana”).
